The Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence is thrilled to be welcoming two new members this January with interests and experience across the spectrum of quizbowl, from writing to event management. Read on to get to know Arthur and Bryanna!
Arthur Ramsay (he/him) has been involved with quiz bowl since 2010, as a player and two-year club president at Half Hollow Hills West. A professional event planner, Arthur has staffed dozens of quiz bowl tournaments, including as director of the International History Olympiad and both tournament director and staff director of several National History Bee and Bowl National Championships. Arthur earned a BA in American Government and History from SUNY Empire State College and enjoys reading and casual trivia in his free time. Since 2011, Arthur has volunteered as a head counselor at a summer camp for children and young adults with special needs.
Bryanna Shao (she/her) Bryanna Shao played quizbowl for Wayzata High School in Plymouth, MN and currently plays for Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
She is passionate and out making quizbowl a fun and welcoming for all, as well as increasing representation in the community and in question content.
